Important Announcement From Alabama Board of Nursing

TO SUBSCRIBERS OF ABN LIST SERV FOR CRNP AND CNM

The Board of Nursing plans to conduct public hearings throughout Alabama in September and October 2012.  The purpose of the public hearings is for CRNPs and CNMs to provide opinions to the Board of Nursing regarding the legislation that was proposed in the 2012 Regular Legislative Session that allowed the Board of Medical Examiners to issue the certificate for controlled substance prescriptive authority and required CRNPs and CNMs to be regulated by both the Board of Medical Examiners (for controlled substances) and the Board of Nursing (for everything else). 

The purpose of the survey is for you to tell us the best day of the week and time for the public hearings.  Proposed cities are also listed.  If you would answer the survey by 8 am August 20, 2012, we will establish the dates and locations and send out information about the locations of the public hearings.  At that time we will also send you a copy of the legislation with some questions the Board of Nursing has related to your opinions.
