Alabama Healthy Food Financing Kick Off

On May 13, 2014 the American Heart Association partnered with VOICES for Alabama's Children to kick off efforts to improve food access in Alabama through healthy food financing. Approximately 60 people attended the event.

Earlier this month, policy experts, health food and grassroots advocates from a wide variety of organizations joined VOICES for Alabama's Children and the American Heart Association in Birmingham to kick off the Alabama Healthy Food Financing Campaign.

Approximately 60 people attended the meeting to discuss healthy food access in the State of Alabama. Folks heard from Brian Lang with The Food Trust, Kim Milbrath with Voices for Healthy Kids, Katherine Bryant with the American Heart Association and Graham Champion, long time American Heart Association volunteer and owner of Public Strategies, LLC.  Click here for photos from the event!
"We were elated by the turn out and enthusiasm around the issue of healthy food financing. We are very excited about working together and moving forward on this issue," said Melanie R.
