Legislative Update
Posted over 11 years ago by Brenda Iddins
As many of you may already be aware, earlier today, SB 229 passed in the AL Senate today with a vote of 27 yes and 1 opposed. This follows the passage of HB 307 last week in the House of Representatives. It is my understanding that the bills are slightly different as one has an amendment regarding the fee NPs will pay to the Board of Medical Examiners (it will be the same amount paid by Physician Assistants). This issue will be resolved by sending HB 307 back to the House Health Committee for the amendment to be added and then back to the full House of Representatives for a final vote. Once this is done, both bills are passed; it will go to Governor Bentley for his signature, following which it becomes state law.
