Good morning CANPA members!

I hope this email finds you all doing awesome on this Friday morning! I promise to keep this brief! I would like to thank each of you for allowing Ambry Genetics the opportunity to sponsor your meeting this month at Season’s 52 in Birmingham. I would like to apologize once again for the technical difficulties we had with the projector and the microphone. I hope you were all able to hear the majority of the information being shared. Attached, you will find information that we would have liked to share on a few slides that evening: A Sample Report showing a positive mutation and the information and guidelines for the provider and patient that accommodate a positive mutation; A general family history questionnaire that we provide to clinics for the patient to fill out while in the waiting room which helps to determine eligibility for testing as well as the proper panel for that patient based on family history.

I hope that you are all utilizing or considering the utilization of genetic testing in your respected practices. As nurses, it is our responsibility to put the patients best interests first and fight for their needs on the front line, a practice that is too often overlooked as we get stuck in our daily routines. I hope that all of you will reach out to Tameron or myself to further discuss genetic testing as it may apply to your practice; we would love the opportunity to come speak with your physicians and staff and help determine if genetic testing is appropriate for your practice.
